Data Handled by the App
mochiKey stores app data locally on your device so the keyboard can work. This can include settings, themes, saved words, blocked suggestions, custom replacements, learned typing data, recent emoji, and imported data you choose to add.
This app data stays on your device unless you enable mochiKey's built-in iCloud backup and sync feature. mochiKey does not operate servers that receive this app data.
iCloud Backup and Sync
mochiKey includes built-in iCloud backup and sync functionality. If you enable this feature, Apple may process or store the app data needed for backup and sync through your Apple account. mochiKey does not control Apple's systems and does not receive your iCloud data.
All APIs that mochiKey uses for iCloud backup and sync support end-to-end encryption when Advanced Data Protection is enabled for your Apple account. Without Advanced Data Protection, Apple may use its standard iCloud data protection for those services. You can manage iCloud and Advanced Data Protection in your Apple account settings.
When You Contact Us
If you contact us by email, we collect the information needed to read and reply to your message. This may include your email address, name, message contents, attachments, technical details you include, and any follow-up conversation.
We use this information to respond to support requests, investigate bugs, improve mochiKey, and keep appropriate records of the conversation. The GDPR legal bases are legitimate interests in providing support and improving the app, and consent where you choose to send optional information.
Website Privacy
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that collects limited performance and usage metrics so we can understand site traffic and page performance. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics collects the minimum amount of information needed for these metrics and does not track individual end users across Cloudflare customers' websites.
Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use advertising trackers or tracking cookies on this site. Like most websites, Cloudflare or another hosting provider may also process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and access time to deliver the site, maintain security, and diagnose service issues.
Sharing and Processors
We do not sell your personal data. We use Cloudflare as our web host and website analytics provider, and Proton Mail as our email provider. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services, comply with law, maintain security, or troubleshoot delivery.
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a valid request from public authorities.
Retention
App data stored on your device remains there until you delete it, change app settings, remove specific items, delete the app, or delete related iCloud backup or sync data through mochiKey or Apple settings.
Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, resolve disputes, improve the app, or meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete a support conversation unless we need to keep it for a legitimate legal or security reason.
Your GDPR Rights
If GDPR applies to you, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data. You may also have the right to data portability and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Children's Privacy
mochiKey is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
